While I will admit that I have no respect for the Patriarcical and abusive bullshit which has been legislated in the Islamic World, that is not my problem. My problem has been the fascist brutality of the country I am a citizen of. I have done everything I could to fix my society. If everyone living under a theocratic regime would merely do everything they could, their lives would improve.
And in all honesty, these guys are not going to go hurt their women. They are going to be way too busy planning and carrying out their revenge against us. That's blow back. In the last 7 years, our violence has bred an entire generation of people who will do what ever they can to hurt us. We have to take ownership of that. We made them.
And the glory is in returning to what used to make this country glorious, the rule of law and a national adherence to honor and the Constitution. Habeus Corpus has been one of the defining Rights of Werstern Civilisation for well over three times as long as there has been a United States of America. Millions of Americans have given their lives for that Right. Hell, it is one of the few real differences between America its former enemies the Nazis, the Communists, and the Fascists. Learn to give more than just a fuck about it. That's worth about $200. What's a soldier's life worth? What's your life worth? I know mine is not worth losing Habeus Corpus. You take away one person's Rights, you are taking away everyone's.
I am surprised Obama has given up so much power. Would any of us do that in his place? Power corrupts and it never takes a step back... only in the face of more power. MAybe there is something to be said for the Power of the People...
